2007 Feast few weeks away...

The feast is now only a few weeks away and preparations, which have been going on for the past couple of months are now entering their final stages.  This year’s feast is set to be celebrated as usual on the first weekend of August exactly on the weekend ending 5th of the month.  This year’s feast promises to be another magnificent one, which will surely clearly show the unity between the people of our village and the various groups which work throughout the whole year for the feast.

This year's celebrations...

This year’s celebrations will officially begin on Wednesday the 25th of July when the statue of our patron Saint Joseph will be taken out of the niche and put in the church.  On this day the Qala Fireworks Group will also put up it’s first show of this year’s feast.  The celebrations will continue in the following week.  The climax will be reached on the last three days beginning on the 3rd of August when the popular march with the statue of Saint Joseph will be held in the main streets of our village.  This march ends as usual with the statue being lifted and put on the pedestal to the joy of the people present.  This march will be followed by a spectacular ground fireworks display.

As soon as this march is over, the Qala Fireworks Group will immediately begin its preparations to put up Saturday’s ground fireworks display which is ranked as one of best from around Malta and Gozo.  The preparations will continue during the following day.  In the evening the translation will take place accompanied with the Ite Ad Josef Band and an aerial fireworks show by the Qala Fireworks Group.  The popular Saturday march will take place in the main street leading to the village square where hundreds of people from Malta and Gozo will be waiting for the unique and spectacular ground fireworks display!

The Climax will be reached on Sunday 5th of August will the Pontifical Mass in the morning.  Following will be the popular Sunday morning march which is mostly popular with the Qala Youths.  In the afternoon the statue of Saint Joseph will be taken out of the church for the annual procession along the streets of our village accompanied by the local Ite Ad Josef Band.  The Qala Fireworks Group will give another unique aerial fireworks show.  The feast will come to an end with another march, known as ‘il-marc ta’ l-ahhar’.

Program 2007...

A detailed program of celebrations will be put online as soon as it is released by the parish office.
